S1 Plus App Connection Troubleshoting Guide
Overview
This guide covers app-related issues and WiFi connectivity problems with the Infinity Flow S1 Plus, including Web Bluetooth pairing failures, WiFi connection issues, and device offline problems. Each section describes the problem, what causes it, and how to fix it.
Web Bluetooth pairing fails - device not appearing in list
Description: When clicking the plus (+) button in the Flow app, the S1-Plus device doesn't appear in the Web Bluetooth popup window.
Important: Web Bluetooth does NOT work on mobile phones or tablets. You must use a computer or laptop with Chrome or Edge browser for device provisioning.
Possible Causes and Solutions:
- Trying to provision using a phone or tablet (not supported)
- Use a computer or laptop only - phones and tablets cannot provision the S1 Plus via Web Bluetooth.
- Bluetooth is not enabled on your computer/laptop
- Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your computer/laptop
- Browser doesn't support Web Bluetooth
- Use Chrome or Edge browser - these have the best Web Bluetooth support. Safari and Firefox have limited support
- Try refreshing the browser page and attempting pairing again.
- S1 Plus is not in pairing mode
- Make sure you pressed and held the BT button on the S1 Plus for 3 seconds - the LEDs should be flashing blue
- Another device is already connected to the S1 Plus
- If another device is connected, disconnect it first. Only one device can pair at a time
- Distance is too far from the device
- Move your computer/laptop closer to the S1 Plus - Web Bluetooth has limited range (typically 30-80 feet)
Wi-Fi provisioning fails - Device connect to Bluetooth but not Wi-Fi
Description: The S1 Plus can be connected to bluetooth but will not successfully connect to Wi-Fi.
Important: The S1 only supports 2.4GHz and will not connect to 5GHz networks. This is standard for most IoT devices because 2.4 GHz offers better range and wall penetration.
Possible Causes and Solutions:
- Wi-Fi network is 5 GHz only
- Enable 2.4 GHz on your router or create a separate 2.4 GHz network
- Router is using a combined 2.4/5 GHz SSID and device isn’t connecting
- Try temporarily creating a 2.4 GHz-only SSID for setup, then reconnect
- Weak 2.4 GHz signal or interference
- Move the device closer to your router or reduce obstacles between them
- Incorrect Wi-Fi password or settings
- Double-check your password and ensure WPA2 security is enabled (not WPA3-only)
- Router limits the number of connected devices
- Restart your router or disconnect an unused device before retrying
Device goes offline unexpectedly
Description: S1 Plus was working with the app but suddenly shows as offline and won't reconnect.
Possible Causes and Solutions:
- Power supply issue or device turned off
-
- Check if the device is powered on
- WiFi router restarted or network changed
-
- Power cycle the device
- WiFi module encountered an error
-
- Check your WiFi network
- Network interference or weak signal
- Delete and re-provision the device
