S1 Plus Setup Guide
Introduction/Unboxing
Welcome to the Setup Guide for the Infinity Flow S1 Plus. Here you will learn how to set up the S1+ and start using it.
What’s Included in the Box
- Infinity Flow S1 Plus Unit (variant-specific)
- AC-DC Power Adapter (12V, 2A)
- 1 meter PTFE Bowden Tube
Add-on Items (Purchased Separately)
- Filament Cutters - See Install Guide
- 3D Printer Adapters - See Install Guides
Best Practices
❌ Do not use the S1+ in a heated chamber. This can cause plastic parts to warp over time and may damage the electronics within the S1+.
❌ Do not use for TPU or other flexible filaments. The S1+ applies a constant preload force on the filament and TPU will easily compress under this force clogging the system.
S1 Installation on Printer
Step 1 Parts necessary for installation
- Included Bowden Tube (1x)
- Bowden adapter for your printer if necessary (See compatibility guide)
Step 2 Install Bowden adapter (If necessary)
Click the link here to see the install guides for the adapters we offer.
Step 3 Install Bowden Tube
Insert one end of the Bowden tube into the blue push-fitting on the S1 Plus. Press firmly until it is fully seated—you should feel it bottom out.
Cut the tube to the appropriate length for your setup, then insert the other end into your printer’s Bowden adapter.
⚠️ Important: If the tube isn’t fully seated, it can cause the filament to catch during switching inside the junction, leading to failed reloads. Double-check that the tube is inserted all the way into the fitting.
Step 4 Plug in the S1
Plug the provided 12V power supply into the wall and plug the other end into the bottom of the S1. Flip the power switch to the on location.
Note: The S1 lights may turn white as it boots up and red when it is ready to load.
How to Load the S1+
Step 1 Load filament into S1 Plus
Insert filament into the device until the indicator light for that side turns yellow and the filament is pulled into the gearbox. The S1 Plus will then turn green and will automatically start pulling the filament into the printer.
Note: When the filament from the first roll reaches the extruder of the printer the filament should stop moving and after 10 seconds the light will turn from green to blue. This means the S1 is in Sleep Mode and will disable the steppers to save energy until the printer begins moving.
Load a second roll into the S1. Make sure the gearbox pulls the filament in and is holding the filament.
Step 2 Load Filament into Your Printer
Once the filament has been preloaded by the S1 Plus, follow your printer’s normal filament loading procedure.
For most printers, this involves using the printer’s LCD menu or touchscreen to begin the filament load or purge sequence. The printer will heat the nozzle and begin feeding filament until it extrudes cleanly.
- At this point, the S1 Plus is fully active and ready to handle reloads automatically during your print.
How to Unload the S1+
Step 1 Unload the Non-active Side
Unload the side of the S1 that is not active. This prevents the S1 from trying to load this roll in once you unload the other side.
Step 2 Apply Plight Pressure on the Reverse Lever
On the side you want to unload, apply some light pressure on the reverse lever to help the printer retract the filament when unloading.
Step 3 Unload your printer’s filament like normal.
Unload the filament on your printer like normal. Be sure to keep applying some pressure to the reverse lever as it retracts.
Step 4 Back Out the Filament with the Reverse Lever
Hold down the reverse lever to back the filament all the way out of the S1.
If you need to stop at any point, just turn off the S1 to have it hold its position.
Step 5 Pinch the Gearbox Lever and Remove the Filament
Pinch the blue levers on the gearbox in order to release the grip on the filament, allowing you to pull it out of the machine.
