Overview
This document outlines the normal operating behavior, LED states, and internal logic of the Infinity Flow S1 Plus. It is intended to help all users understand how the device works day-to-day, what different LED states mean, and how the system behaves in different conditions.
Internal Logic — Switching
The S1 Plus applies a constant preload force on the filament during normal operation and measures the force feedback to track the 3D printer’s extruder movement. When the preload force decreases, the S1 Plus knows the extruder of the printer is moving forward and does the same. When the force increases, the S1 Plus knows the printer is attempting to retract the filament and does the same.
Once a roll is fully consumed, the device waits for the filament to be pulled through the filament junction by the printer and transitions to the next filament roll to continue the print.
Standard Operation
| Lights | Description |
| 🔴 🔴 Solid Red Lights | Both sides are empty. No Filament is detected in the Gearbox sensors or Filament junction sensors. |
| 🔴 🟢 Solid Red & Solid Green | One side is active (green). One side is empty with no filament detected. |
| 🔴 🔵 Solid Red & Solid Blue | One side is in 🔵 sleep mode (Active side but filament is not moving). One side is empty with no filament detected. |
| 🟡 🟢 Solid Yellow & Solid Green | One side is active (green). The other side is loaded. Unless the power is cycled, the active side will stay green until the filament is pulled through the exit of the S1+. |
| 🟡 🔵 Solid Yellow & Solid Blue | One side is in 🔵 sleep mode (Active side but filament is not moving). The other side is loaded. |
| 🔴 🟡 Solid Red & Solid Yellow |
One side has run out but not yet exited the filament junction. The other side is loaded (yellow) but waiting for the filament junction to be cleared. This state can typically only be achieved if the device is turned off and back on while the filament has exited the gearbox on one side but is still present in the filament junction. (This may indicate a jammed filament junction sensor if there is no filament in the junction). |
Wifi & Bluetooth Connection
| Lights | Description |
| 🔵 🔵 Two Blue Flashing Lights | Bluetooth pairing mode active. Ready to connect. |
| 🔵 🔵 Two Blue Solid Lights | Connected via web Bluetooth. |
Startup & Updates
| Lights | Description | Action Required |
| ⚪️ ⚪️ Two Solid White Lights | OTA firmware update in progress. |
Wait for firmware update to complete. |
| 🔴 🔴 3 Red blinks (3 blinks total, stops. Does not repeat) | OTA firmware update failed. Device will auto re-try. | Check wifi connection & re-try update. Contact support if failure repeats several times. |
Error States
| Lights | Description | Action Required |
| 🔴 Red Blinking Light (one side only) |
One side has run at full speed for a significant amount of time and is not able to generate any force feedback. Typically indicates:
|
Power cycle device. Fix root cause if necessary. |
| 🔴 3 Fast Red Blinks (can be one or both sides) | Driver hardware fault detected on one or both sides. | Power cycle device. If persistent, contact support |
| 🔴 🔴 Two Red Blinking Lights | General device error — both sides disabled | Power cycle device |
| 🟣 🟣 Two Purple Lights (Solid) | Critical Microcontroller Failure | Contact Technical Support |
