Requirements

S1 Plus

Anyone can access the S1+ App for free, however, and S1+ is required to monitor filament levels and usage. The original S1 version is not compatible with the S1+ App.

2.4 GHz Wifi Network

A stable 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection is required to use the S1 Plus App. The S1+ will not connect to a 5GHz Wi-Fi network.

Laptop or PC

A PC or laptop with Bluetooth to provision your S1 Plus and connect it to Wi-Fi. While the app is accessible on mobile, mobile provisioning is not available yet.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the S1 Plus App in beta?

This is the first launch of the S1 Plus App, and while it already includes all of the features described on our website, you may notice some minor bugs in the user interface. To help us improve, there’s a bug icon at the bottom of your dashboard—you can click it anytime to report issues directly to our team.

The app is not limited by seats—anyone with an S1 Plus can use it right now.

We’re calling it beta because we’re still polishing the experience and adding new features. What you see today is only the beginning—many more updates are on the way soon.

How can I change the S1 Plus settings in the app?

The S1 Plus App makes it easy to manage your device settings directly from the dashboard. On the device page for your S1 Plus, you can:

  • Adjust Preload Force – Fine-tune how much forward pressure the S1 Plus applies to filament, making it easy to adapt for different printers, materials, or setups.
  • Update Firmware – Keep your S1 Plus up to date with the latest features and reliability improvements. Firmware updates are handled safely—they automatically wait until the S1 Plus enters sleep mode between prints so your jobs are never interrupted.

With these tools, you can keep your S1 Plus optimized without needing extra steps or complicated setup.

What kind of notifications can I receive?

The S1 Plus App provides notifications to keep you updated on your system’s status. You can choose to receive alerts when:

  • An S1 has low filament (less than half a roll left on one side).
  • An S1 is completely empty and needs reloading.
  • An error is detected (usually caused by a problem with the print).

Notifications can be sent directly to the email address on your account and will also appear on your dashboard.

You’re in full control—you can enable one, all, or none of these alerts depending on your preference.

How do S1 Groups and Filament Profiles work?

The S1 Plus App gives you tools to organize and segment your usage tracking:

  • S1 Groups – You can group multiple S1 Plus units together inside the app. This lets you see usage data by group—for example, grouping S1s by printer type, location, or a specific production line. It makes it easy to understand how different parts of your print farm are performing.
  • Filament Profiles – You can create custom profiles for different filament types or brands. When usage is tracked, the app assigns it to the correct profile, so you can compare how much of each material is being consumed.

When combined, Groups and Profiles make the dashboard highly flexible. You can see usage across your entire farm, drill down to a single group of S1s, or filter by filament type to get a clear picture of material costs and consumption.

How does the filament inventory management system work?

The S1 Plus App uses a FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory system. This means that the first spool you add to your inventory is also the first spool the app deducts usage from—giving you an accurate view of stock levels and costs over time.

The S1 Plus automatically tracks filament usage as it passes through the device. Every meter used is logged against the correct spool in your inventory.

You can also enter new filament orders directly into the app, keeping your inventory up to date. If you ever lose material to waste, breakage, or other issues, you can make quick adjustments so your stock and cost tracking stay accurate.

In short, the inventory system combines automatic usage tracking with manual order input and adjustments, giving you a reliable picture of what filament you have, what it costs, and when it’s time to restock.

How do I install or log in to the S1 Plus App?

The S1 Plus App is completely web-based—there’s nothing to install. You can access your dashboard from any web browser, on any device.

Simply log in through the web portal, connect your S1 Plus over Wi-Fi during setup, and your dashboard will sync automatically. From there, you’ll be able to monitor usage, track inventory, and manage settings from anywhere in the world.

What is required to use the S1 Plus App?

To use the S1 Plus App, you’ll need:

  • An S1 Plus (the app only works with the Plus model for tracking filament usage).
  • stable Wi-Fi connection where your S1 Plus is located, so it can communicate with the cloud.
  • PC or laptop with Bluetooth to provision your S1 Plus and connect it to Wi-Fi.

At this time, provisioning with a phone or other mobile device is not yet supported (mobile setup is coming soon).

Once provisioned, you can log in and manage everything from any web browser.

How accurate is filament tracking?

Filament tracking with the S1 Plus is extremely accurate—as long as the user-entered inputs (filament density or spool length) are correct.

The system works by measuring the exact distance traveled by the S1 gearbox drive gears. This gives a precise count of how much filament has actually passed through the device. The app then converts that length into kilograms using either the filament’s density or the roll length and weight you provide.

Because the measurement is based on physical filament movement, not slicer estimates, the S1 Plus tracks real usage across:

  • Full prints
  • Half prints
  • Failed prints
  • Even cases where the printer extrudes “in air”

This means you always know the true amount of filament consumed—not just what was planned in your slicer.

How does the filament tracking work?

The S1 Plus integrates with the S1 Plus web app to give you full visibility into your filament usage and inventory. Once connected to Wi-Fi, the S1 communicates with the cloud so you can monitor your setup from anywhere in the world, not just your local network.

Key Features:

  • Usage Tracking – The S1 measures exactly how much filament has run through it and reports this to the cloud, giving you precise usage history over time.

  • Inventory Management – The app supports FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory tracking, so your filament stock stays organized. You can log new spools, enter orders, and adjust inventory records to keep data accurate.

  • Profiles & Grouping – Create filament profiles for different materials and group multiple S1 units together. This gives you segmented tracking by material type or by groups of printers—helping you better understand how different parts of your farm are performing.

  • Low Filament Alerts – Receive notifications when filament is running low so you can swap spools before a job fails.

By combining precise usage data, flexible grouping, and cloud-based inventory tools, the S1 Plus makes it easy to manage everything from single-spool tracking to farm-wide material analytics.
